How to clear browser Cache, Cookies and History

The following steps will outline how to clear your browsers cache, cookies, and history. This will cover our supported browsers only. Other browsers are not officially supported, therefor we do not have specific information to assist with them. 


Google Chrome

  1. Click on the Customize and Control button in the upper right corner of the browser
  2. From the menu, place your mouse cursor over the History option
  3. Select the History option from the new menu
  4. On the new page that appears, choose Clear browsing data from the left
  5. On the window that opens click on the drop-down menu and select the beginning of time
  6. Now select the following: Browsing History, Download History, Cookies and other site and plugin data, and Cached images and files
  7. Click on the Clear browsing data button
  8. Once the window closes, you are returned to the Chrome settings window

Now that you have cleared the browser’s cookie and cache files, you must close the browser. All windows, tabs and sessions must be closed for this to work. If you are in doubt that all sessions are closed, it is recommended to simply restart your PC.


Internet Explorer 11

  1. Click on the Tools button from the upper right corner of the browser
  2. Select Internet Options
  3. On the Internet Options screen, click on the Delete button
  4. Choose the following option: Temporary Internet Files and website files, Cookies and website data, and History
  5. Click on the Delete button
  6. While the browser is deleting data, you can click on the OK button on Internet Options
  7. Once the data is cleared, you will be shown a notification bar indicating so

Now that you have cleared the browser’s cookie and cache files, you must close the browser. All windows, tabs and sessions must be closed for this to work. If you are in doubt that all sessions are closed, it is recommended to simply restart your PC.


Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click on the Menu button in the upper right corner of the browser
  2. Select the History option
  3. Click on the Clear Recent History option
  4. On the window that opens, set the Time range to clear to Everything
  5. Select the following options (You may need to click the details button to reveal these option): Browsing and Download History, Form & Search History, Cookies, and Cache
  6. Click on the Clear Now button
  7. Once the window closes, you are returned to the Firefox Browser

Now that you have cleared the browser’s cookie and cache files, you must close the browser. All windows, tabs and sessions must be closed for this to work. If you are in doubt that all sessions are closed, it is recommended to simply restart your PC.


Microsoft Edge

  1. Select the Hub icon from the upper right corner of the browser window.
  2. Select the History icon.
  3. Select Clear all history.
  4. Choose the following options: Browsing history, Cookies and saved website, Cached data and files.
  5. Select Clear.
  6. Under the Clear button, Edge will display the status of the operation; it is finished when it shows All Clear!

Now that you have cleared the browser’s cookie and cache files, you must close the browser. All windows, tabs and sessions must be closed for this to work. If you are in doubt that all sessions are closed, it is recommended to simply restart your PC.


Safari for Mac (Not supported on PC)

  1. Click on the Safari menu
  2. Select Clear History
  3. Select the option of All History from the drop-down menu
  4. Click the Clear History button

Now that you have cleared the browser’s cookie and cache files, you must close the browser. All windows, tabs and sessions must be closed for this to work. If you are in doubt that all sessions are closed, it is recommended to simply restart your PC.
